Dr. Kelly Faddis is a Managing Director with Accenture Federal Services, where she manages technical teams delivering expertise in artificial intelligence, operationalized machine learning, applied data science, software development and advanced analytic solutions for Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. Kelly is a champion of Inclusion & Diversity, representing the National Security Portfolio in Accenture’s Leadership Council.
Dr. Faddis began her career in government at the Central Intelligence Agency. Kelly served in the Directorate of Science & Technology, where she managed the Office of the Chief Scientist Identity Intelligence Research & Development program; and in the Directorate of Operations, where she led technology development and deployment for the Counter Terrorism Center Surveillance Group. Kelly is a recognized subject matter expert in identity and biometrics within the Intelligence Community.
Kelly obtained her Ph.D. in Systems Engineering at Southern Methodist University. Her work supporting US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) involved designing an experiment to quantify the performance degradation of biometric devices that occurs when transitioning from sterile to tactical environments. Her work culminated in the Tactical Biometric Evaluation, which served as the foundation for USSOCOM evaluation of tactical identity devices and remains a core element of device evaluation today.
At WVU, Kelly earned a B.S. in Biometric Systems (2005), a B.S. in Computer Engineering (2005) and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering (2007). Kelly was very active in student organizations, founding the Student Society for the Advancement of Biometrics (SSAB), leading the College Student Advisory Council, and marching in the Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band. Additionally, Kelly was inducted into the Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi engineering honoraries.
Kelly resides in Northern Virginia with her husband (and WVU Engineering Alum) James and her twin daughters, Natalie and McKenzie.
