Kenneth W. Goff, a native of Weston, West Virginia, received his BSEE degree in June 1950 from WVU and married Hazel Sullivan, also a WVU graduate. He then earned his MSEE degree in 1952 and ScDEE degree in 1954, both from MIT.

Dr. Goff joined Leeds and Northrup in 1957 where, first as a manager of Systems Analysis and then as a manager of Systems Development, he was responsible for the computer simulation and the development of the hardware and software for computer control of industrial processes, steam power plants, and electric power systems. His work in these fields led to his election as a Fellow in the ISA and the IEEE.

From 1985 to the present, Dr. Goff has been with Performance Controls, Inc., as a Director and Vice President of Advanced Technology. He has participated in the development and marketing of motion control and power electronics systems for industrial and medical applications including advanced gradient drives from Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems.
