Michael Buffa attended West Point, and following graduation in 1966, he attended West Virginia University and received the BSEE Degree in 1968. After graduating from WVU, he spent 13 years with the Honeywell Process Control Division, did MBA studies at Rutgers University, and progressed from engineering to marketing, and eventually national sales manager.

In 1981, Mr. Buffa left Honeywell and served in corporate executive positions in the companies of Computer Products, Inc., Machine Vision International, and Nestor, accomplishing significant improvements in product lines, sales, marketing, and financial performance. In 1995, he founded the Central Florida Innovation Corporation, a non-profit company having the mission to stimulate high-tech growth in Central Florida.

Mr. Buffa has been cited for his record of business innovation and success. His efforts were recognized by the Wall Street Journal, which in its June 1989 Centennial Edition, cited him as CEO of one of the 66 companies "poised to lead business in the '90s." That same year he was nominated for Inc. Magazine's prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year" award, having developed more than a dozen business ventures. He has spent most of his career accessing unique technologies and matching them to emerging markets.
