Richard Folio holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from West Virginia University, a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School where he also was appointed by the U.S. Office pf the Under Secretary of Defense serving as an Industry Fellow, and a Leadership Certificate from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.  

Richard J. Folio is the chief Architect within the Engineering & Technology Strategy Office of the Space & Airborne Systems Segment of L3Harris Technologies Inc. He provides scientific, technical, and engineering leadership to the Segment and Corporation Senior Staff through assessing and defining the overarching technical strategy for all aspects of the business across a diverse customer, capability, and technology portfolio. 

Upon graduation from West Virginia University in 1984, Richard joined L3Harris. Over the past 38 years, he has held a variety of leadership positions within business, engineering, and strategic management organizations. His past positions have included Chief Strategist for the Mission Solutions Division of the Electronic Warfare Sector, Sr. Director of Internal Strategy for the Cyber Integrated Solutions Segment, the Chief Architect for the U.S. and International Defense Programs Segment, and the Defense Segment Sr. Director for Research and Development. 

Folio has numerous publications, patents, and awards both inside and outside of L3Harris Technologies Business Leadership Development Program.  

Folio has been married 33 years to his wife Linda, who is a Corporate Senior Contracts Manager for L3Harris. They have two children: Lauren, who will complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Central Florida in 2023 and Samantha, who after receiving her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology is an Aerospace Engineer for the U.S. Air Force.
